Eugene McDermott Scholars Program
There's still time for qualified students to apply for The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program at The University of Texas at Dallas.
The McDermott Program generously supports students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, and character with a combination of education and extracurricular experiences that is a proven springboard to future success.
The final deadline for applications is Jan. 6, 2013. By Jan. 22, we'll notify applicants of their finalist status. Those moving on in the selection process (finalists) will be invited to attend the Program's selection weekend, held at UT Dallas on Feb. 22-24.

BigSun Athletic Scholarship
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
Deadline - June 21, 2013
Amount of Award - $500.00
The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.

The University of Texas at Dallas
The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program at The University of Texas at Dallas is one of the nation's most generous and flexible undergraduate merit awards, providing an essentially debt-free college education.
The McDermott award includes:
• UT Dallas tuition and fees
• $1,200 monthly stipends to cover on-campus housing and living expenses
• Annual book allowances of $1,000
• Cultural experiences and access to tickets to the Dallas Opera and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
• Study abroad funding of up to $12,000 per Scholar
• Post-college preparation support of up to $3,000 per Scholar for academic conferences, graduate school interview travel, MCAT, LSAT, etc
• Cohort travel — destinations have included: Santa Fe, New Mexico; Austin, Texas and Washington, D.C.
• Professional staff dedicated solely to the operation of the McDermott Program and the success of its Scholars
The total value of the award in benefits and tuition and fees is more than $200,000 (out-of-state) or $140,000 (in-state) over the four-year term of the award.

• Nov. 6, 2012 — Priority deadline for student application and counselor recommendation, which ensures notification concerning semifinalist status by Nov. 13.
• Dec. 3, 2012 — Semifinalist deadline for invited students to submit three additional recommendations, which ensures notification concerning finalist status by Jan. 22.
• Jan. 6, 2013 — Regular deadline for student application with four recommendations, which ensures notification concerning finalist status by Jan. 22.

LEAP summer program at UCLA
The LEAP Foundation is a non-profit located in Los Angeles.
The LEAP Foundation’s mission is to help young people from around the world find professional and personal success by teaching them real-life keys to success such goal-setting, mentorship, self-motivation, professionalism, and effective communication skills. All of these skills are vital to success, yet omitted from today’s formal education system.
Each summer, LEAP hosts it’s week-long leadership and development program on the campus of UCLA. During this event, over 400 outstanding students (ages 15-24) from across the globe, travel to Los Angeles to partake in our program.
In preparation for LEAP 2013 (July 28th-August 3rd), LEAP has been raising funds so that it may offer several full-ride scholarships to the upcoming program (Tuition normally is $3,000). We would like to offer 2 scholarships to Montgomery Bell students.
Deadline to apply is Dec. 1.

Villanova University Scholarships
The Presidential Scholarship is a renewable, merit-based award covering full tuition, room and board, general fee, and the cost of textbooks for eight consecutive semesters. To be considered, students must be nominated by an official designee from their high school and submit a complete application for admission by December 1. Upon nomination, students will be given further instruction on how to apply for the Presidential Scholarship. There are no GPA or standardized test score minimums, but finalists for the Class of 2016 awards averaged: weighted GPA of 4.19/4.0; combined SAT of 1450; composite ACT of 33. 28 Awards were given for the 2012-2013 year. For the 2012-2013 academic year, 1,120 scholarships were admitte,d beginning at $1,000 per year. The average award amount was $5,357 per year. In order to be considered for a Villanova Scholarship, students must submit a completed application for admission (including SATs/ACTs taken no later than November) by December 1, and finalists will be required to participate in the Villanova Alumni Interview Program.
