Students selected as Furman Scholars are eligible to receive at least $5,000 in scholarships upon acceptance into Furman University. Additionally, Furman Scholars are eligible for a ten percent discount on our week-long, residential Summer Scholars program. Information about the Summer Scholars program is available at www.engagefurman.com.
High school counselors may nominate current juniors for the Furman Scholars program who meet all of the following criteria:
1. A high school weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
2. A genuine interest in an education in the liberal arts and sciences.
3. Significant involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.
4. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
5. One of the following test scores: Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test score of 120 or higher (critical reading and math scores only), Scholastic Aptitude Test score of 1200 (critical reading and math scores only) or higher, or ACT Composite score of 26 or higher. Please do not add the writing score to the Total Score.
ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE BY MARCH 15, 2013. Counselors may nominate up to five (5) students.
