The John Montgomery Belk Scholarship will be awarded for up to eight students attending Davidson College. It is an annually renewable scholarship equivalent to the college's comprehensive fees (valued in 2012-2013 at $52,155). Each scholar also receives two special study stipends (up to $3,000 per stipend) for international study and other enrichment opportunities.
Each high school may nominate one student. Nomination materials from the counselor are due by November 9, 2012. Nominees must submit a completed admission application no later than December 3, 2012. Thirty students will be chosen as finalists and invited to campus for Belk Celebration and Selection Weekend, March 21-23, 2013. Belk Scholars will be announced by April 5.
